Our primary need is for a physical location to hold performances, set up office and store all our sets and props.
We need space with a high ceiling that can be converted for use as a theatre and office. Those of you who have seen the B Street Theatres facility will know what we are looking for.
Lacking an actual warehouse/theater, we need about 200 square feet of indoor storage for our massive Scary U props and sets. These are stored 11 months of the year. Currently the haunted house is held outside but we REALLY need to move it indoors. We've almost been rained out several times and the weather is hard on the sets and props.
We are in need of costumes, including Halloween, Patriotic and Period costumes. We also need wigs.
Our makeup supply runs out quickly. We use mostly Ben Nye brand and can purchase it with cash donations.
Building materials - see the list on the Scary U page. In addition, we need a variety of pneumatic cylinders, valves and hoses for special effects and some electronic controllers.
We also need lights, sound equipment and control boards. We currently use stereo amps we picked up at garage sales , and lights we have fashioned out of sheet metal. Our lighting control board is home made and we need a computer controlled system. When we buy our theatrical lights we'd like to skip the current generation of clunky incandescent lights which require very expensive dimmers and purchase from the beginning the new generation of LED based lights. The new led lights are low power and the color can be controlled directly by the computer rather than by gels. This means fewer lights are used since they can change color from scene to scene.
Food and drinks - our Halloween crew works hard for about 7 straight hours. Donations of pizza and sodas the night of halloween and on the Saturday before would help immensely. We don't want them actually eating the little kids, now do we?
